CANADIAN MUSEUM OF HUMAN RIGHTS
Lighting System: ETC Mosaic Show Controller, ETC Mosaic Touch Screen Controls, ETC Mosaic Network System
Architect: Antoine Predock
Lighting Consultant: Martin Conboy Lighting Design
Systems Engineer: Martin Conboy Lighting Design
Contractor: PCL Construction
Project Scope:
Field Service .CA was engaged to complete the deployment of the designed system within the timelines for this project, and deliver on-time and on-budget. We are proud to be a part of Canada’s continuing commitment leading the worlds human rights movement. The unique challenges of the Canadian Museum of Human Rights presented themselves to the Field Concepts design team in early 2014. The existing distributed lighting control system was in need of redesign to accommodate the challenging design requirements of this extraordinary building.
Notable Features
To facilitate a seamless integration of the lighting control and dimming systems with the extensive multimedia system throughout the galleries, an ETC Mosaic show control system was engineered. Living on the backbone of the facility’s significant IT networking infrastructure, the Mosaic system allows for an efficient programming maintenance process which is centralized yet accessible from anywhere in the facility. Independent lighting control is maintained at each of the five major galleries via a customized touchscreen interface. The facility’s staff is able to quickly and reliably update galleries lighting levels live while the galleries are in use minimizing the required downtime of other designs. General maintenance, fixture refocusing or new exhibit deployments can be preprogrammed for offline editing and deployed with a single click of the control software.
