TORONTO DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD

A/V System: Crestron, Clearone, Polycom, TOA

System Engineer: Wayne Korhonen

System Programmer: Scott Smith

Project Scope:

The Toronto District School Board approached Field Service .CA early in 2010 and asked for help troubleshooting an existing installation in their Main Boardroom at 5050 Yonge Street. The room has a fully integrated A/V system incorporating Crestron controls, video and tele-conferencing, delegate and chairman microphones, and a dual screen projection system. Field Service .CA re-mapped the complete I/O infrastructure before re-programming the system to allow for a more functional and simplified user interface. Many repairs where made to the existing interconnect wiring and microphone systems to bring the system back to a fully functional state. Once the rebuild was completed a new set of as-built drawings and manuals where produced along with a custom user quick guide to help with the transitions between staff changes.

Notable Features:

The system incorporates the ability to supervise and direct a complex 40 member board meeting easily and efficiently through the central Crestron Touchscreen. Wireless microphones and local media breakouts allow interaction with both the public and the media during a meeting. All content can be broadcast over either the internal CATV system to the Internet via a media encoder. Finally, the video conferencing system allows the board to interface with remote locations and persons to aid in the efficient and timely transfer of information.
